The Hope Valley Primary School closed today, 19 December 2003. The children finished on Tuesday with visit to Scitech and lunch at Nero's Restaurant.
The siren was rung for the last time by Wes, the last of four boys from his family to attend the school.
The staff worked very hard over three days to sort and dispatch all of the school resources. When all of the furniture was gone we had to bring out the esky and folding chairs for lunch.
The final act of the closure was having the Salvation Army pick up the few remaining pieces of furniture.
